Credible, informative blog articles

Translating scientific research into engaging articles

Context

8-13% of women worldwide have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome).

Up to 70% of cases are undiagnosed.

It can feel lonely. PCOS can be hard to identify, but getting a diagnosis is a starting point for many women to learn how to manage symptoms.

The founder of Her Farmacy is committed to educating and supporting women and in taking back control. With the launch of her business and proprietary DIM supplement, she asked for a few informational articles for Her Farmacy’s blog.

Goal

Provide targeted, credible, science-backed articles to answer questions people with PCOS may be asking when they start looking to buy a DIM supplement.

Results

While the articles are not published yet, we’ll seek to establish these business baseline metrics:

  1. Page views
  2. Average session duration
  3. Pages per session
  4. Top pages
  5. Bounce rate
  6. Conversion rate
  7. Revenue attribution

Implementation

To understand the audience I listened to the founder’s story, researched prevalence and demographic statistics, and browsed online forums and informational resources where people were sharing their personal experiences.

I created customer personas to capture 4 distinct segments to capture the potential audience.

Then I went to published scientific studies to understand what current research had to say about DIM’s biological action and the benefits for PCOS and hormone-related conditions.

I reviewed the product’s online posting to gain a sense of the company’s voice. I used this voice to write initial drafts of the articles.

Finally, I applied SEO principles to make the articles easy for search engines to surface for potential customers looking to learn more about DIM.
